Gryphon Elektra: Full Board Repair

The Gryphon Elektra was connected to very large Jeff Rowland amps, which had a major malfunction due to poor ground connectivity. As seen on the left, the entire board was severely blown. This very labour intensive work consisted in restoring the preamp to its original "as new" condition. In order to accomplish the unimaginable, each individual and original part was obtained and carefully replaced. Parts of the board underneath were replaced with OFC copper leads. The few parts that managed to survive were tested for proper operation, relays cleaned and placed back.

After roughly two months, the Gryphon was singing again. The owner couldn't believe this repair was possible, but for SCIURITECH it's just one of our personalized highly skilled services available.

Technics SE-A3 MK2: Repair & Upgrade

This Technics amplifier is a classic amongst collectors. This particular issue had problems with the old transistors. These were replaced, along with matching Nichicon and Elna capacitors over old caps that were suffering from severe degradation due to heat and the passing years. For further optimization, key resistors were also upgrated to Vishay Dale precision resistors. For added separation between left and right channels, along with better signal-to-noise ratio from transformer noise, custom cut-out copper plates were fixed around the transformers.

In the end, the powerful and clear sound of the SE-A3 MK2 was able to move the most demanding loudspeakers with ease, displaying control and refinement as never before.

In this case, changing generic capacitors with audiophile-grade non-etched caps and swapping generic resistors in the signal path with audiophile-grade precision matched resistors. As a result, Bass reaches lower and tighter with an absolutely quiet background. Highs are smooth and controlled, without a hint of harshness.
